I think its on the front of the engine low down under the exhaust manifold.

yes! it's the same engine as my rover 45! the oil filter is on the offside,(drivers side uk) if you take off the wheel on that side you will find it just above the sub frame.Please can anyone tell where is the oil filter in a Rover 75 2.0 liter Thank you?
if its diesel its the big nut to the front left of the engine if its petrol the answer above is right

look for the cylindrical object protuding from the lower half of the block,-look from underneath to aid visibility.
