How do I locate the oil filter on a 1955 2nd series chevy pick- up ? did they have one?

it may not have one.i don't beleive oil filters were standard equipment on cars till 57, and trucks were later than that.however there were aftermarket add ons commonly avaiable at that time.How do I locate the oil filter on a 1955 2nd series chevy pick- up ? did they have one?
is not an oil fliter it will look like can a canister
