the hex size= 1-7/16inches and is tightened to only15-20 lbs feet [ive been using a 3/4 drive socket on these for years] the proper [metric] socket is available from assemacher tools i recently bought one the part# AST2175 listed in catalog as 74.5 mm.it' like all tools from this company' is very nice.
