What makes you think you've put enough oil in it? Presuming it's the right dipstick, park the car on the level, stop the engine %26amp; wait 5 minutes before dipping. If the oil still doesn't show, there isn't enough in it, simple as that.
Just keep in mind the distance from the bottom of the dipstick to the full mark represents only 1 quart. Many people think they are completely out when the dipstick is dry!
if the dip show it to have no oil u have one or two probs its not enough oil or the dip stick is not the right one
are you useing dip stick with engine running ? if so the low reading is from amount of oil used to lube under pressure cams ,crank rods etc most engines use 2 to 3 qts under press if you try to use dip stick right after you turn off some of lube oil may take time to return to pan use stick after 15 min of turn off
