Anyone ever seen a very old metal oil filter?

My husband is teaching a class and has searched every where for a picture of an old metal oil filter used before the 1950's, so far no luck. Does anyone know where he could find a picture of one?Anyone ever seen a very old metal oil filter?

OH I did a search of ';oil filter canister'; in google. as canister was what it was called my dad had 2 rig's that used them one was an old 56 dodge dump truck and the other was a 46 Willy's jeep.
