What kind of filter and oil do I use in a 1973 winnebago with a 318 dodge engine?

PLease help, I just bought an old 1973 winnebago and don;t know what oil and filter to use..pleaseeeee help me!!!!What kind of filter and oil do I use in a 1973 winnebago with a 318 dodge engine?
Chrysler V8s all used the same oil filter from the 50's through the 70's. If you ask for a '73 Plymouth Fury filter, it will fit. If there is a clearance problem with the Chrysler filter, you can use a Toyota filter, such as the filter for a '76 Corolla.

The manufacturer's spec for oil was probably 10W30, but I'd suggest a 10W40 for an older engine. Oil changes every 3000 for this motor. I wouldn't use synthetics unless the motor has been rebuilt and thoroughly resealed. The old gaskets are probably porous even with regular oil. With synthetic you'll leak half your oil between changes. What kind of filter and oil do I use in a 1973 winnebago with a 318 dodge engine?
whatever you want to oil is optional in a good old 318
Do not use 5-30. It's too light for that load. 10-30 or 10-40 and warm it up before you go. Synthetic will make it leak more and you don't need that with the engine in the passenger compartment. Use a heavy duty filter and avoid the cheap brands. You will notice higher oil pressure with the good ones.
I would use a filter for a 1973 318 Chrysler engine. I perfer filters made by Wix. They make filters under their name or for other such as, NAPA, Delco, etc. Best bet is to cross referenc ethe number on the filter thats on it.
guy at the parts store can tell you what filter if that thing has alot of miles you're gonna want a heavy weight oil like 20w50

Personal preferece is Castrol...DRIVE HARD BABY!!!!!
