Does it really matter what kind of oil filter you use?

I have an 03 Acura RSX-S. I always use OEM oil filters. Is there really a difference between ';brand name'; oil filters and those cheap ones you've never heard of? (like Nippon)Does it really matter what kind of oil filter you use?
you don't want to go with a cheap after-market brand. go with a trusted after market like : WIX, Baldwin, Fleetguard. remember you get what you pay for.Does it really matter what kind of oil filter you use?
I like to read the label on the package like FRAM which touts 99% single pass and 96% multiple pass efficiency, if there is no product info on the label I don't buy it. Like super tech, walmart's brand there is no product info, i would like to try it, but there is no information about the filter and its abilities.
The cheaper ones use an inexpensive paper element. You

should use the OEM or FRAM oil filters. Some of the

cheap oil filters leak at the gasket. Pay a couple dollars

more for peace of mind.
really any name brand is good many times the name brand company makes the others and in some cases might make more than one brand so that oem type really could have been made by a name brand company.. dont buy the cheap ones... if you have not seen the name before
Some oil filters have backfeed valves that keep oil pressure on your tensioner and lifters, some have thicker or thinner membranes and are simply built better than others. I'd recomend using OEM filters.
Some are better than others as far as the filter elements go. If you are changing the oil and filter every 3000 miles, I don't see a problem with using any of them.
They are NOT all the same. Non oem filter may be good if they are a good brand, but I wouldn't touch non-brand oil filters with a ten-foot pole.....

Besides - is it worth risking your engine for a FEW BUCKS????
Some are better than others, but frequency of oil change and filter is more important.
you can use any brand you want, as long as it fits your engine. myself, i use fram.
I agree with Mustang, OEM or Fram brand are the only ones I trust with my engines.
the name brand ones r usually better but it doesnt really make a difference on everyday driving
sometimes, u don't want to go to cheap unless u plan on changing your oil a little more often
No, it's really just preference. They are all basically the same. We use K%26amp;N
