I did not change the oil filter when I change oil can I do it now?

I drove car for 3 days after I changed oil but by mistake I did not change the oil filter ...can I change the oil filter now or it is too late and I should wait till next oil change?I did not change the oil filter when I change oil can I do it now?
You can do that but I would recommend using fresh oil again. As the oil that you poured 3 days back might already be dirty. If not wait for a month and replace both oil and oil filter together.





If you do not use a new oil filter when you change oil, you are killing the main purpose of oil change.

I would change the oil and filter but that's me. You've already contaminated the new clean oil with dirty oil.





Some may say just change the oil sooner than what you normally do.
You can but the dirty oil that was in the filter is mixed in with the clean oil you just added.
i suggest you change the oil because the dirty oil is mixed with the new oil
